Sanitary Weigh Belt Feeders
Thayer Sanitary Weigh Belts have become the standard in the food industry. These feeders will accurately meter a wide variety of hard-to-handle materials such as potato chips, freeze dried fruit, cereal and flour mixes. Construction features on Thayer Sanitary feeders make frequent wash downs fast and easy, with no drop in feeder accuracy.
Thayer weigh belts incorporate many unique design features that result in extremely stable calibration, high accuracy and performance reliability.
Construction features on the stainless steel Sanitary MXL make frequent wash downs fast and easy, with no drop in feeder accuracy.
Adjustable skirtboards
Skirtboards are both adjustable and removable, permitting quick access for cleaning.
Head pulley drive
Lagged head pulley provides positive traction, eliminating belt slippage and belt tracking problems. Conventional tail pulley drive requires high belt tension to "push" instead of pull the belt. This high tension causes lifting of the belt and weighing errors, as well as faster belt wear.
Rugged, heavy duty steel frame
Strong, welded steel frame resists deflection and twisting, thus assuring maximum accuracy and minimum downtime. Heavy duty components assure long life accuracy even in severe operating environments.

Cantilevered belt frame
Permits easy cleaning or removal of belt without disassembling feeder. Take-up adjustment is conveniently located on the side of the pulley frame. Hand operated "position memory" simplifies belt replacement and cleaning.
Endless belt is selected based on material density and other characteristics, and is available with or without flanges. Standard belt is FDA approved, rated up to 275°F. Belt scraper is easily adjusted and maintained.
Weigh sensing
Low deflection, non-wearing weight sensing system provides long term accuracy. All sensitive parts are enclosed and located outside of the materials handling area to prevent system errors and maintenance problems.
Simply suspended weight sensing eliminates errors due to friction and material build-up errors that are common with slider decks or suspension systems located between the belt strands.
Test weights representing specific lbs/ft loading combine with an automatic belt travel measurement system to provide pushbutton calibration with error free results. Commonly used shunt or "dummy" calibration signals only test electrical outputs and do not exercise the scale mechanism. Optional Automatic Test Weight simplifies the calibration sequence and provides the ability to conduct totally unsupervised calibration.
True belt speed sensing
Tail pulley mounting provides digital belt speed sensing with resolution to 0.001 feet. System detects belt slippage or breakage, while self-cleaning pulley eliminates errors due to material build-up.
