The 6RF-6A Belt Scale is designed for inventory control and totalization. The weighbridge of this 6 idler belt scale features exclusive rocking flexure suspension in the approach-retreat configuration. Weight sensing is sensitive, deflection is low and the scale is isolated from error-inducing effects of uneven belt tracking, overloading, belt lifting, and other common conditions. Tare load is mass counterbalanced to create superior signal to noise ratio in weight sensing, orders of magnitude better than belt scale designs supporting full tare load on the load sensors.

A typical equipment package includes scale suspension, load sensor, belt speed transmitter, instrumentation and calibration equipment. Ask our applications engineers for recommendations on scale location or conveyor structural requirements to achieve the highest, consistent performance.

RF Belt Scales take the work out of calibration
Patented calibration method utilize a controlled belt travel interval, makes one-shot adjustment possible. Material totalization data is not affected by calibration runs. Unique test weight system eliminates the need for test chains.

Speed Measurement
Accurate belt speed measurement requires the use of a precision wheel or pulley in contact with the tension side of the belt in the area where the scale weighbridge is located. The Thayer Scale belt travel pulser assembly is located underneath the load carrying side of the belt in the area where the weighbridge is located. The belt in this area is stretched and under load. Measurements at any other location on the belt , such as with pulleys in contact with the slack strand of the belt or tail pulleys, are subject to belt stretch errors.

The distinct type of continuous weighing and feeding equipment and the unique environment and operational issues that their applications typically encounter, may place too many requirements on the load sensing system for any single technology to completely satisfy.

Thayer Series LC-137 (LVDT) and LC-174 (Strain Gage) Load Cells are housed in interchangeable enclosures that permit direct substitution on most Thayer Conveyor Scales-Series RF.
