Description
MWF-OS Low to Medium Capacity, Sanitary, Light Industry Weigh Belt Feeder
A Built-to-Survive sanitary weigh belt featuring two (2) standard belt widths, six (6) standard conveyor lengths and two (2) wash down construction levels enable the MWF-OS to be tailored to your process layout, sanitation practices and budget. Its low maintenance design and ability to be economically reconfigured for future capacity needs provides a long-term, low cost of ownership.
Major food brands rely on the MWF-OS Sanitary Weigh Belt Feeder to accurately measure a wide range of materials with varying particle shapes and densities. Its open construction design is easy to clean to provide Precision Measurement and Extreme Reliability.
Key Features
- Rugged construction withstands rough handling / sanitation by untrained personnel
- Scanning / visual systems detectable belt compound, discharge (drive) pulley lagging, nip guards, belt cleaner blade, bearing housing covers and product containment skirt sealing strips
- Two belt cleaner options each optimized to remove fines or residue maintain zero measurement stability
- Cantilevered conveyor frame provides tool-free belt removal / installation
- Visual indicators readily provide at-a-glance status of weigh bridge alignment and belt tension, empowering anyone on the production floor as a stakeholder in validating proper weigh belt adjustment
- Multiple transmission options that use commercially available components providing more flexibility in replacement parts sourcing decisions
Product Containment
Full length product containment skirts provide field adjustment of the gap gradient in the direction of material flow to relieve / defeat particle jamming to maintain accurate load measurement. Available sealing strips in the inlet transition area add an extra layer of material confinement that defeats material spillage.
Simplified Conveyor Construction
Belt driven from discharge pulley maintains uniform belt tension under all loading conditions. Raised profile on underside of the belt engages guides in the pulleys and conveyor supports to maintain belt alignment, irrespective of how product is delivered to the weigh belt. Eliminates troublesome appendages such as belt tensioners and trackers. Belt speed measured at infeed (idling) pulley readily detects a broken or slipping belt.
Available Automatic Calibration
Zero calibrations can be manually initiated by an operator, remotely from a host supervisory control system, or automatically whenever the measured load drops below a pre-programmed tolerance. During span calibration, Thayer Scale’s optional automated test weight placement system transfers a precision calibration test weight to and from its storage position to the scale enabling complete automatic calibration.
