Compact vibratory feeder is easy-to-clean and economical.
Compact Vibratory Tray Feeders
Precision dosing performance, designed to fit where others can’t.
Thayer Scale’s family of compact vibratory loss-in-weight feeders are powered by our platform scale subsystem. The small footprint of these feeders is ideal for challenging layouts where space is at a premium. Suitable for a wide range of challenging material types including cohesive powders, granular materials and larger, irregular shaped products that may be fragile or friable.
Thayer Scale’s vibratory loss-in-weight design features our patented Spiralator® hopper agitation system which consists of a slowly rotating, non-agitating, conical wire-spiral within the hopper that counteracts the material’s tendency to pack and bridge under its own weight. Our vibratory feeders also include a patented vibrating tray insert (available in two designs for non-cohesive pellets or cohesive/adhesive powders) to optimize material flow.
The combination of this unique material conditioning system and a vibrating pan feeder ensures reliable and gentle handling throughout the entire feeding range.
Industry Applications
Suitable for irregular shapes, larger particles, pellets and powders.
- Minerals & Inorganics: Sand, Calcium Carbonate, Granulated Gypsum, Zinc Stearate, Sodium Bicarbonate
- Food & Agriculture: Rice, Sliced Almonds, Grass Seed, Tobacco Seeds, Vitamins, Citric Acid
- Plastics & Polymers: Plastic Pellets (Includes Lldpe and Polypropylene), Lldpe Pellets, Polypropylene Pellets
- Industrial & Specialty Chemicals: Colorant, Pulverized Coal, Fiberglass

Core Technologies
🌀 Spiralator® Hopper Agitation System
Our slow-speed Spiralator® prevents compaction by continuously lifting dry solids along the hopper wall. It’s ideal for gently conditioning non-compacting materials.
📦 Two Feed Tray Designs
Stainless Steel Tray: For free-flowing pellets, granules, flakes, or fibers. Elastomer Membrane Tray: For cohesive or adhesive powders requiring extra vibration energy to ensure uniform flow.
⚖️ Fully Mass-Counterbalanced Flexure Suspension Platform Scale
Maximizes load cell utilization by measuring only the live load and isolating the material weight signal from vibration, shock, and external forces.
🧩 Load Cell Options for Any Application
Strain Gauge Load Cell: Rugged and accurate, rated 25–500 lbs. with 300% overload protection. LVDT Load Cell: High-resolution, tension-style design ideal for light loading and fine-feed applications and offering unparalleled overload protection at 1000% of rated output.
🧰 Built-In Automatic Test Weight Lifter (ATWL)
Built-in calibration system applies a known test load at the press of a button. Enables quick, verifiable calibration checks without halting production or manual intervention.
Key Benefits
of Thayer Scale’s Compact Vibratory Feeders
🏢 Compact Design
Engineered for minimal floor and head space while maintaining full dosing performance.
🌀 Gentle Material Handling
Vibrating pan feeder and unique material conditioning system will not degrade or alter the appearance of delicate or fragile materials – including irregular and larger particles.
🧱 Built to Survive
Unlike lightweight designs made for short-term convenience or scale sensitivity, our feeders are engineered for long-term durability, without compromising accuracy.
🔄 Integrated Material Agitation Options
Prevents flow issues like bridging, funnel flow, adhesion, and cohesion for consistent material feeding.
📐 Flexible Mounting Options
Supports floor-mounted, rotating, stationary, wheeled, forklift-based, or suspended installations.
